Players of Swick’s 6-6, 207 lb stature are common picks late in drafts when team’s are swinging for attributes or unitasker type players, and perhaps that is what the Vegas Golden Knights were looking at when they took him 180th overall in last year’s draft.

The Vegas Golden Knights signed Swick to a three-year entry-level contract on March 1, 2025.

He did however complete his 2023-2024 campaign with Kitchener of the OHL with a 25 goal, 37 assist effort, and followed it up in his D+1 campaign with 27 goals and 34 assists in 60 games in the most recent season.

Swick finished 44th in the OHL in points, and put pen to paper on his ELC with the Golden Knights. He will be off to Henderson of the AHL in the fall, and he will most likely be used for his size than for his scoring prowess, but a big man like him who has shown an ability to provide offense (eight points off leading the Rangers with seven fewer games played than the leader) could find a home in the NHL. Many teams have tried plunking a big man like Swick in front of the goalie on the power play, if his hands translate to the NHL level, that could very well be where we see him in years to come.
