The 21-year-old Larsson, listed at 6-3 and 203 pounds, is a sturdy, puck-moving defenseman with an accurate shot. Larsson will need plenty of development time over the course of the next few seasons, as he attempts to earn himself an NHL contract. Luckily for Larsson and the Rangers organization, the club holds his signing rights until August 15, 2028. Larsson will play at Robert Morris University during the 2025-26 season.

Larsson is in his first season of NCAA play with Northern Michigan University. He has appeared in 19 games for the Wildcats, scoring zero points and posting a minus-nine rating, after recording four goals and 13 assists in 59 games played the previous season with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL. Although Larsson is a player who will need plenty of time to develop at the collegiate level before attempting to turn pro, he has posted some good overall numbers in the past, scoring 34 points, to go along with a plus-23 rating in 50 games played in 2022-23, his most recent season of J20 play in his native Sweden with Vasteras IK. Look for Larsson to spend a few seasons at the college level before potentially emerging on the Rangers’ radar as an option for a pro contract.

Larsson, the big Swedish defenseman, listed at six foot three and 203 pounds, is in his first season of North American hockey, playing for the USHL’s Green Bay Gamblers. With Green Bay, the imposing lefty has posted one goal and eight assists in 35 games played. Larsson will be heading to the NCAA in 2024-25, to play for the Northern Michigan Wildcats, where he will continue his development.
