Fisher added some winning pedigree to his resume with a Frozen Four championship with Denver this season. Unfortunately his scoring touch completely dried up in the second half of the year with just 4 points in his last 25 games. He finished with a modest 19 points and 69 shots in 42 contests, but his hot start leaves our hopes high that he has another gear to find offensively next year. He remained 50/50 in the faceoff dot and still projects as a bottom-six centerman when he eventually turns pro.

Halfway through his sophomore NCAA campaign, Fisher is already nearing his point total from last year. With 4-7-11 in 19 games he’s still not high on his own team’s scoring leaderboard, but he’s filling a middle-six role every night with zero penalties taken so far and a slightly higher shot volume than his rookie total (but is still under 2 per game). He started playing as a left winger but has since switched back to center, and will hopefully stay there for the remainder of the year to maximize his fantasy value and actual upside as a future depth forward.

In his freshman NCAA campaign with the University of Denver, Fisher put up 15 points in 42 outings. This is a far cry from his USHL numbers where he was near a point-per-game, but he projects as a depth centerman so being able to fill a 3C role on a competitive squad right away is a positive sign. At 6-02 and 192 he is filling out to match his archetype. If in the next 1-2 years he can become a true all-situations forward while maintaining modest point production, he could be on the same development path as DU alum and current Avalanche Logan O’Connor. Expect 2 more seasons with the Pioneers.
