Patterson’s Barrie Colts were eliminated in the OHL’s conference championship. He finished the 2024-25 regular season with 25 goals and 59 points and was one of the team’s offensive drivers. He carried this great offensive showing into the postseason, where he registered 12 points in 16 games. Patterson signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Canucks on September 22, 2025. Expect him to head back to the OHL, barring an impressive showing at next year’s training camp. Either way, Patterson is already proving to be a solid mid-round selection.
Patterson has been nothing short of remarkable this season. He has netted 22 goals and leads the top-seeded Colts with 50 points. When on the ice, Patterson has been a dominant force. He uses his speed effectively and controls the pace of the game. Patterson has been red-hot in recent games in late January and early February. He has a slew of multi-point games on his seven-game point streak. As the Colts’ season continues, Patterson looks to be a tremendous mid-round pick for the Canucks.
Drafted in the fourth round of the 2024 draft, Patterson is an exceptional skater who generates chances with his feet. He plays a north-south game and isn’t to hang out in front of the net. He also features a quick release that has given him some success. Patterson also has a high motor that is evident in all three zones. He has a quick stick in the defensive zone, utilizes his speed through the neutral zone, and battles in the offensive zone. Patterson has some fine-tuning to his game, but he is an intriguing prospect to look out for as the OHL season progresses.
