Louis-Antoine Denault is the tallest goaltender in the entire draft class, a 6-foot-8 netminder the Florida Panthers selected 217th overall, continuing the club’s long tradition of taking an oversized goalie late. He stands above every goaltender currently in the NHL, and a basketball background gets much of the credit for the unusual mobility and lower-body athleticism he carries on that frame.

His draft season was a comeback story, split between the Quebec Remparts and, after a December trade, the expansion Newfoundland Regiment, where he seized the starting job and went 16-7 with a .913 save percentage on his way to a combined 22-15-3 record. The appeal is efficiency of size: he needs to move far less than smaller goalies to cover the net on clean shots, plays a strong post game, hinges cleanly out of the reverse-VH, and is quick for his dimensions.

As a 19-year-old seventh-round re-entry, he is a long-term developmental project. He returns to Newfoundland for 2026-27. For fantasy he is a watch-only stash in the deepest goalie leagues, a novelty-size flyer, and whether the technique matches the frame is the tell before any dynasty consideration.
