Rogowski was selected by the Vancouver Canucks with the opening pick of the 2nd round (33rd overall) of the 2026 NHL Draft.

Brooks Rogowski has not had the most normal progression through his young career, but his rapid growth and overall improvement, along with some highly intriguing tools, makes him a potential top prospect in the near future. Going from playing high school hockey in Michigan, a state that has not had an NHL draft pick in nearly a decade since Alec Regula in 2018, Rogowski made the jump from the HS circuit to the OHL, and as the season went on progressed into a much improved player. The 6’6 right-handed center manages to be noticeable just based on his size and handedness alone, but Rogowski has quickly managed to become a highly effective offensive threat with a strong skating ability for his size and weight at 227lbs. Rogowski has shown himself as capable of shutting down opponents with his extended reach and skating mobility, making him a dangerous combo of size and feel. Still, Rogowski is a raw player who needs more refining in his game, but to start the season is hovering at a PPG pace. For context, Jack Nesbitt went 12th last draft at just under PPG in the OHL, with Rogowski a bigger and more creative player at the same age. There’s very few players who move and create as well as Rogowski does at his frame, although their games aren’t too alike, a popular comparison that will likely come up is Tage Thompson, who had taken a few years to reach his peak, and like Rogowski, may need a few seasons to hit his stride, but could end up one of the best players from this class.
