The lost season is now complete. Mayorov finished 2025-26 without a single game of record at any level, listed on Lokomotiv Yaroslavl’s senior goaltending depth chart behind Daniil Isaev but never appearing in a KHL or VHL game all year. For a 22-year-old goalie, a full season without competitive reps is a real development cost, not a neutral hold. The tools that made him a 2022 fifth-rounder are unchanged and unusual, a 6-6 frame with the athleticism to match, and his last meaningful body of work, the 2024-25 MHL season with Loko at a 2.40 and .905 plus a KHL debut shutout, showed a goalie worth waiting on. Dallas retains his rights indefinitely under the Russian draft-rights rules, so there is no signing deadline forcing a decision. The entire evaluation now rests on where he plays in 2026-27. A VHL starting job would restart the projection clock; another season buried on a KHL bench would push him toward the deep-sleeper category permanently. Fantasy managers should not roster him anywhere until a real workload materializes.
Mayorov’s development track has held more than it has advanced since the last update. Lokomotiv’s June 27, 2025 season recap highlighted that the 21-year-old appeared in two KHL games in 2024-25 and posted a shutout in his debut, while his 2024-25 MHL numbers with Loko closed at 23 games, a 13-2-1 record, a 2.40 goals-against average, and a .905 save percentage. The next signal came on Sept. 4, 2025, when KHL.com listed him as part of Lokomotiv’s senior goaltending group behind Daniil Isaev and alongside Alexei Melnichuk entering 2025-26. The issue is that the ice time has not followed. Lokomotiv’s official 2025-26 player stats list Mayorov with zero regular-season KHL appearances, and his VHL page also shows no games logged, so this season has functioned more as a hold year than a true step forward. The size and long-range intrigue are still there, but for fantasy purposes he remains a patient goalie stash until he earns real pro volume.
The hulking netminder saw action between the MHL and KHL in 2024-2025. He posted a 13-2-1 record in the MHL with a 2.40 GAA (25th best) and .905 SV% (51st best) and saw two games in the KHL. Its Likely the 21 year old gets more time in the KHL next season, and could be worth a stash if your team needs some prospect goalie depth. He is still unsigned by Dallas, and will likely still be a long way off.
The Dallas Stars drafted Mayorov in the fifth round (147th overall) in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
