Aspinall scored 33 goals and recorded 94 points in 65 games as the captain of the Flint Firebirds (OHL) during the 2025-26 season. He was a force in the postseason, scoring 10 goals and totaling 17 points in eight playoffs games. The massive winger (6-7, 194 pounds) could get a look from a rebuilding squad in New York next fall, but an AHL campaign might be best to his overall potential despite the surge in scoring to closed out his OHL career.

Aspinall, playing for the Flint Firebirds in the OHL, recently signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Rangers, effective for the 2025-26 season. The contract carries an annual average value of $925,000. The huge left-shot winger, weighing in at 6-7 and 194 pounds, is off to a hot start with Flint, posting 15 points in 12 games played thus far. Although signed to his first pro contract, Aspinall still has a ways to go in terms of his development, and will presumably need at least a full pro season with the Hartford Wolf Pack before attempting to earn a call-up to New York.

Aspinall, unsigned at this point by the Rangers organization, has slightly less than one year remaining until his signing rights expire in New York, and will be looking to continue to grow his game in 2025-26. The big winger, 6-7 and 194 pounds, will be suiting up for a fourth season with the OHL’s Flint Firebirds. Last season, in 62 games with Flint, he recorded 17 goals and 30 assists, and is recognized for being a skilled passer and a strong net-front presence. The recently turned 19-year-old will look to continue improving his development and point production, as he will be a senior member of his Firebirds squad. From there, he will look to earn an entry-level contract and report to the Hartford Wolf Pack, New York’s AHL affiliate, as soon as his age permits.

The New York Rangers drafted Aspinall in the fifth round (159th overall) in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
