Strahl played his first season in North America for the Youngstown Phantoms in the USHL during the 2024-25 season. He had a 33-12-0-1 record with a 2.42 GAA and .903 SV% and was named one of three USHL Goalie of the Year finalists along with Jan Spunar and Yan Shostak (winner). He played more minutes than any other goalie in the USHL last season. Strahl is moving on to the NCAA for the 2025-26 season as he is committed to playing at Michigan State. The Blue Jackets’ 2023 fifth-round pick (156th overall) is not considered a dynasty stash, but if he can put together a solid NCAA career, he could be on the fantasy radar in two to three seasons.
