Cowan kicks off his NCAA season with an exhibition game with his new squad at Western Michigan University. He has played primarily in his home state off Minnesota as a youth before playing a year with the Madison Capitals of the USHL and then committing to the NCAA the following year. Cowan recorded 51 points (21G, 29A) in 57 games with the Capitals in 2024-25- good enough for 3rd on the team in points and top -30 in the league with 61 PIMS to boot- playing with teammate and 2025 first-round pick Ryker Lee. Look for Cowan to continue to develop his game with the Broncos and gain some valuable experience with the club. The Broncos won their first national title last year, defeating Boston University and look poised to make another run. Should Cowan’s game make the appropriate strides, he may hear his name called in his second year of NHL draft eligibility.
