Beaudoin was dealt to the Rangers as part of the trade package for Vincent Trocheck, and instantly becomes New York’s top Center prospect. The organization kept its word of looking to acquire closer-to-NHL ready talent in this transaction, as opposed to multiple draft picks. After four seasons of OHL play with the Barrie Colts, Beaudoin is AHL ready this coming season and will suit up with the Hartford Wolf Pack, bolstered by some of New York’s other recent acquisitions, as well.

Beaudoin finished 2024-25 at nearly a point per game with 51 points in 52 games. He also helped Barrie reach the OHL conference finals before losing to Oshawa. Offense still is a big question mark on Beaudoin’s game, he finished fifth in scoring on just Barrie’s lineup. He’s got a high floor though, with his high drive that never lets up, heaviness on pucks, battle level, strength in the dot, willingness to lay the body or block a shot and his forechecking. While Beaudoin struggled to produce offense at the 2025 WJC he was one of their only tone-setters in terms of physicality and heaviness.

Selected to play for a deep Team Canada for the 2024 World Junior Championship, Beaudoin most likely plays a bottom six role for the team but could earn more. He leaves Barrie with 13 goals and 29 points in 24 games.

Beaudoin had a very impressive rookie and preseason camps with Utah. While he never racked up big offensive numbers, his strong 200-foot game and overall tenacity on the ice was very noticeable. Beaudoin made a hard push to make Utah’s opening night lineup, returning to Barrie of the OHL though, would be much better for his development. Utah did sign him to his entry-level contract. He currently leads Barrie in scoring with nine goals and 19 points in 18 games.

The lefty and native Canadian appeared in 54 games with Barrie a season ago, posting 88 points, after having been approximately a point-per-game during the two seasons prior. He has also appeared in 33 games of action on various Canadian World Junior teams in recent years, and is viewed as a player with good playmaking skills who plays an aggressive, agitating style. Beaudoin should develop into a good point producer and fantasy option moving forward, if he continues to develop well over the next season or two.

February 2024Beaudoin is yet another prospect whose stock dropped as a result of others in his class elevating their game and standing out as of late, while his game remained relatively the same over the past few months. As a result, he drops 14 spots from 31st in November to 45th in February.

Prospects of Beaudoin’s size usually lack the technical puck-protection abilities that average- or below-average-sized prospects are forced to adopt. Beaudoin not only has the size, but the technique, making him one of the best puck-protectors in the draft, as well as a solid defensive contributor. His strong and compact release makes him a solid off-puck threat, too. The ceiling is low with Beaudoin, but there isn’t much preventing him from making a third line as a power forward and cycle offense specialist.
