Heise continues another trend for the Sharks, trying to strengthen the middle and back end. Heise is a talented offensive player with a lanky frame for his size (6-3, 169lbs). He is committed to Michigan State University in the fall, where he will have plenty of time to develop and become a stronger presence down the middle. He will take a while to get up to speed, but once he adds strength and refines his vision to assist his offensive game, Heise could become a bottom-of-the-lineup NHL player.

Selected 150th overall, Max Heise is now a member of the San Jose Sharks. Heise will play in the Western Hockey League during the 2025-26 season and is committed to playing at Michigan State University for the 2026-27 campaign. The 19-year-old played two seasons in the BCHL with the Penticton Vees and in 2024-25 more than doubled his offensive production from his rookie season in 2022-23. He recorded a team high 27 goals and added 13 assists in 50 regular-season games. He also chipped in with 17 points (five goals and 12 assists) in 14 playoff games. Heise plays both center and wing. Although he’s a long way from fantasy relevance, the CHL to NCAA route gives him time to develop.
