Sikora signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Washington Capitals in May 2026. His deal carries an average annual value (AAV) of $995K and runs through the 2028-29 season. The 20-year-old recorded nine points in 24 games against older competition with HC Ocelari Trinec in Czechia in 2025-26. Sikora captained Team Slovakia to a quarterfinals appearance at the 2026 World Juniors behind a two-goal, nine-point performance over seven tournament games. Sikora is likely to spend time with the Hershey Bears (AHL) unless he seriously impresses Washington’s brass this summer.

Sikora has been a pleasant surprise as a 6th round pick. He was promoted from the U20 Czechia league to the main men’s league after just two games as he showed he was far too good for that league. In the men’s league Sikora had 15 points in 34 games, with a surprising 61 penalty minutes. In the playoffs he elevated his game with four points in six games, and he does the same internationally as well. At the World Junior Championship, Sikora had seven points in seven games, and all other international play say him produce 19 points in 21 games. He will spend the full season in the main men’s Czechia league for 2025-26, and maybe longer, but his projection is looking great at the moment.

The Washington Capitals drafted Sikora in the sixth round (178th overall) in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
