Klyvo is one of the more intriguing players from the 2025 draft. This is a player who spent the entire year at the under-20/under-18 level only to get called up to the SHL for the playoffs. Yes, he did not score a point in the SHL playoffs but he looked the part in the professional game, indicating a higher floor. The Panthers drafted a player with a professional frame who will certainly see hundreds of professional games: the question is in which league. The best part of Kongsbak Klyvo’s game is his skating, which projects incredibly well. When a player skates well and has a big frame (6-2, 194 lbs), they are almost always a strong bet for the NHL. Coupled with the meteoric rise Kongsbak Klyvo had in the second half of his season, this could be one of the steals of the 2025 NHL draft.

Already 6-2 and almost 200 pounds at 17 years old, 2024-2025 saw Klyvø take over more and more hockey games using his speed and tenacity at the J20 level. He accumulated most of his points in the second half of the season as he moved up the lineup and eventually got into four games with Frolunda’s SHL team during the playoffs. In the J20 playoffs, he played above a point-per-game, and while he didn’t register any points at the SHL level, don’t be surprised to see him start at the SHL level next season and stick there in a bottom-six role.
