Gorzynski played the 2025-26 WHL season between the Calgary Hitmen and Prince Albert Raiders with a combined box reading 65 games, 27 goals, 42 assists, 69 points, and 47 penalty minutes, a major jump from the 42 points he posted the year before. He led the Hitmen in scoring before his December trade to Prince Albert, where he kept the same pace and finished with the Raiders among their top producers.

Despite having no picks in the first two rounds, Dallas still made six selections. Their second came at 126th overall, where they took WHL winger Gorzynski. This season was a leap forward for Gorzynski, improving from nine points in 42 games to 42 points in 68. It is unlikely he remains on such a steep trajectory, but it does indicate untapped offensive potential. Gorzynski is a tenacious, straight-line forward. He plays with an intense, fast pace that never lets up. Coaches love to deploy a forward with an active stick and physical edge – Gorzynski fits that mold. He has a knack for chasing pucks down and separating any opposing body from them. The Stars drafted a potential bottom-six player who can leave a mark, with sneaky upside.

Defensively he reads well, backchecks with purpose, and does not cheat offensively. His skating is adequate for the WHL level but will be tested in pro hockey. The agility component, lateral crossovers and recovery speed, is where the work remains.

Dallas invited him to the 2026 prospect tournament in Detroit, where he drew bottom-six center duty. He is turning pro this fall. Fantasy managers in deep dynasty leagues should stash him now. He projects as a physical, two-way middle-six forward who can contribute 15 to 20 goals and chip in on a second power play unit, with penalty minutes as a bonus category. The question is whether the skating holds up at AHL pace, and that will define whether his ceiling lands closer to 50 points or 35.
