Pepoy is a riser. He showed up to Saginaw’s camp without a contract, earned a roster spot as a free agent out of the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite program, and went from a “W” grade on Central Scouting’s preliminary list, the watch-only tier, to 110th among North American skaters on the final ranking. The climb tracks a mid-season breakout. He had four points through his first 24 games, then got bumped to the second line in late November and took off, finishing with 16 goals and 29 points in 67 games. The calling card is goal-scoring; the shooting carried most of his production once he got the look. He’s a lean 6-2 with room to add strength, and filling out the frame is the obvious next step for a winger whose game is still maturing. For fantasy, the appeal is the arrow rather than the current output. A late-round prospect on a steep developmental curve is worth tracking, but the realistic outcome runs through another OHL season at Saginaw and then years at Lindenwood, a lower-profile college program, before any NHL projection firms up. If the second-half scoring proves real and the body catches up, a middle-six scoring winger near 40 points is the ceiling, which is where the 4.0 upside lands.
