Aiden Fink just can’t stop defying the expectations of his 7th round selection. After completing his third NCAA season with 10 goals and 28 assists in 30 games, sitting 10th in points per game, Fink saw six games with Nashville’s AHL affiliate to close out the season. While with Milwaukee, Fink scored three goals and added seven assists to finish with 10 points in those six games.

Aiden Fink has started the 2025-26 season where he left off the 2024-25 campaign, potting two goals and seven assists in the first six games of the season. If he can maintain this pace over the course of the season, he will eclipse last year’s 53 point effort, and put himself in contention to be one of the most exciting prospects in Nashville’s pipeline.

My, what a steal Aiden Fink is appearing to be. Only six names were called after Nashville called the 20-year-old winger’s name in the 2023 Entry Draft, and he has been rewarding them for their faith and solid scouting with a solid NCAA career.

Fink was selected 218th overall by the Predators.

The AJHL’s regular-season leading scorer with 41 goals and 56 assists for 97 points in 54 games, Fink played a significant role in the Brooks Bandits being nearly unbeatable this season with a record of 53-5-2. He especially stood out at the World Junior A Challenge as he tallied 12 points in six games for Canada. His intensity was on display; he showed complete drive well beyond his size and made himself the offensive focal point of that team.

According to Instat, Fink averaged just over three shots a game, but less than half a hit per game, and standing at 5-10 and 161 pounds, he doesn’t quite have the frame of a physical NHL winger. His small sample size in the AHL at the end of the season however shows he certainly has the jam to put up points in the professional level.

Fink has been a fun story since he started putting up points in the NCAA, and remains off many fantasy rosters. You should be plucking him off the wire, or planning to take him in the later rounds of your drafts once the higher end of the class is gone. 7th round picks rarely become fantasy relevant skaters, but plenty exist, and Fink has done everything he can to this point to put himself in the latter camp.

A lot needs to happen before we pencil Fink into our fantasy lineups, but if Fink isn’t owned in your league yet, get out there and change that.

In 2024-2025, Fink posted 23 goals and 30 assists to finish with 53 points in 40 games, putting him tops in points-per-game in the NCAA. Fink is still relatively small in stature- listed at 5-10 and 161 lbs- and will need to test his mettle against bigger, stronger competition at the AHL level before we can pencil him in to a regular NHL role. On his side, however, is a stat line that stands above other 20-year-old NCAA performances like Brock Nelson, Troy Terry, and Cam Atkinson. If he were to reach levels similar to any one of those veterans, he would be more than worth the stash in your dynasty league, or a 7th-round pick paid by the Predators. Time will tell.

A creative mind who plays with high intensity, Fink’s ability to open up lanes to pass and shoot pucks through is uncanny. He boasts a whippy, accurate shot which has a knack of finding its way through opposing netminders. His intensity carries a lot of weight in his defensive game, as his positioning itself can be hit or miss. The biggest issue with Fink is the fact that his skating stride is subpar. His stride extensions are insufficiently deep, and his recoveries are way too short, making him struggle to get up the ice. Some in-depth work on his skating mechanics could unlock some alluring second-line upside, but Fink has a lot of work to do to become an NHL-caliber player.
