The most promising prep-level defender of the draft. Baldwin made appearances with the U.S. National U18 Team. A dynamic attacker who uses his blazing acceleration, great handling, and instincts in all facets of play. It became clear during the season that Baldwin was already too good to be playing in the prep level. He is constantly active, roaming around the ice in offence to try and create advantages wherever he can. He has no problems taking on anyone with his speed and hands, driving to the net, and scoring. His skating and footwork are the keys to his defensive game, matching anything the attackers try and closing gaps rapidly. Baldwin is still learning the physical side of his game, with flashes of someone who can step up, but it’s still infrequent. He also needs more time to learn how to process the game off-puck when he isn’t the one dictating play. In the few USHL games he played, he struggled to adjust and couldn’t bring his offensive elements as well. Committed to Providence College for the 2026–27 season, Baldwin is a long-term project, but what he’s managed to do at the lower level makes him a great long-term investment for Tampa. If everything goes to plan, Baldwin looks to be a second-pairing offence-minded defenseman.

Suiting up for all three of St. George’s Prep, the USNTDP, and Cedar Rapids this season, Baldwin perhaps didn’t have a chance to make a name for himself. His 6-0 frame might not be doing him any favours either. Nevertheless, Baldwin has looked dependable in all three zones ,no matter where he’s gone. He has strong four-way mobility, ably identifies his coverage, and possesses solid transition defence habits. His first pass and first step are also both strengths. Though he may struggle to find suitors at the pro level early in his career, I don’t doubt that he’ll endear himself to coaches at the NCAA and eventually earn a look.
