Griffin had a strong second full OHL season, leading the Oshawa Generals with 25 goals and 67 points in 66 games before signing an amateur tryout with Cleveland late in the season. The 2025 fifth-round pick added valuable professional experience with the Monsters before returning to the junior ranks for the playoffs. Oshawa subsequently traded Griffin to the Guelph Storm, where he will continue his OHL career in 2026-27 as the Storm prepare to host the Memorial Cup. Griffin’s offensive production and ability to create plays at both five-on-five and on the power play make him an intriguing later-round prospect.

Griffin improved his draft stock after leading the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with 16 playoff goals last season for the Oshawa Generals. Overall, the 5-10 center generated 29 points in 21 playoff games following a 51-point regular season performance. While not yet official, Griffin is eligible for two more seasons in the OHL, so he could return to Oshawa for 2025-26.

Selected 160th overall, Owen Griffin is now a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
