Skating in his fourth NCAA season, Svedeback continues to put up solid numbers- 2.55 GAA and .907 save percentage in 10 games. Interestingly, his GAA has increased each and every season he has been in the NCAA, but he still sits 16th in that metric and 21st in save percentage.

Svedeback completed his third NCAA season with Providence College, posting a 2.42 GAA, .911 SV% and a 14-8-4 record. His rates put him in the top 40 goaltenders in the NCAA, and likely mark his final go-round in the Collegiate ranks. With both Brandon Bussi and Michael DiPietro on expiring contracts, it would be sensible for the Bruins to sign Svedeback to his ELC and have him hone his craft in the AHL. With the carousel and issues in the goaltending pipeline in Boston recently, it would give fans some relief to see a future netminding option showing that there’s some homegrown options on the way.

Svedeback has a long road before he’s nipping at Jeremy Swayman’s heels to earn NHL starts, so holding shares in him could end up being a long wait before we know their value, but one can see him earning a look by the time Joonas Korpisalo’s contract ends in 2028. Look for him to link up with Rochester near the end of the year and battle with Michael DiPietro next season.
