Reynolds skated in his third QMJHL season in 2025-2026, playing 61 games for the Newfoundland Regiment, providing three goals and 22 assists. His offensive is not the calling card of his game, so the low totals are not a surprise. Where Reynolds made his mark- and where his fantasy value will come from- is in the peripheral categories. He was a 99th percentile QMJHL defensemen for hits and penalty minutes, but only in the 50th and 30th percentiles for blocks and shots on goal, respectively.

Reynolds plays a traditional, stay-at-home defensive style and brings good size at 6-3 and 187 pounds. He skated in the QMJHL as a rookie in his draft year, and while the Q is known for high offensive numbers, he contributed modestly with four goals and 10 assists, along with 69 penalty minutes over 64 games. As one of the youngest players in the 2025 draft class, his current physical stature is thus all the more impressive and helps project the path his development might follow. He’s expected to return to the QMJHL next season to continue refining his game, though offensive production likely won’t be a major part of that growth. His future value to the Kraken lies in his ability to shut down opposing plays, and he could be useful in fantasy formats that reward hits, blocks, and penalty minutes. He’s a long-term project—worth adding to your watchlist, but not yet ready for a roster spot.

Selected 68th overall, Will Reynolds is now a member of the Seattle Kraken.

For most fantasy leagues, a hit only player is often not rosterable unless he provides more to his game. Though impressive to note his assist total sat in the top 25% of the QMJHL by defenseman, it loses value to learn that more than a third of those assists were of the secondary variety. Reynolds clearly has a mould, but it is hard to see at this stage if it will translate to higher levels and become fantasy relevant. Currently, the Kraken are taking a wait and see approach, as at current writing, he has not signed an ELC since being drafted in the third round last year. That deal will no doubt get done, and Reynolds will get a chance to fight for a spot in the AHL with Coachella Valley, but he is more of a watchlist player than a farm stash in most fantasy leagues- and only the ones where the categories he specialize in are of value.

He could end up getting some cups of coffee, but we won’t know for some time, and there’s more pound-for-pound fantasy value to be found elsewhere it appears.
