Ingram skated in his third NCAA season in 2024-2025, and his offensive game took a step back. He provided a line of 2-6-8 in 29 games. He projects less as an offensive dynamo, and more of a defensively responsible, motor type of player. He will be 22 when the season starts, and depending on the settings for your league, might not be worth a fantasy investment at the current stage unless your league is sufficiently deep.

Ingram finished his freshman year at St. Cloud State with eight goals and 15 assists in 23 NCAA contests. The 82nd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft had the tenth best points-per-game amongst D+1 forwards in the NCAA this year with a 0.56 rate. Obviously he didn’t make the same amount of noise like guys such as Logan Cooley, Jimmy Snuggerud or Cutter Gauthier but Ingram had a solid season for his standards. The next step is to show progression both on the ice and on the score sheet in his sophomore season. He has top-nine upside in the NHL but he needs to show that his scoring can translate from college to the professional level.

Ingram is off to an O.K. start with St. Cloud State in the NCAA this season. The Canadian forward has scored two goals and eight points through eight games so far. However, similar to his time in the USHL, he has been dependent on the powerplay for production. Five of his eight points have come on the man advantage.

After a point-per-game season in the USHL this past year with the Youngstown Phantoms, Ingram will be moving on to the NCAA to play for St. Cloud State University. Ingram’s strengths are his NHL-caliber shot and high hockey IQ, but he struggles in utilizing his 6-2 frame to its fullest extent. Two to three years in the NCAA will go a long way in his development.

Ingram was selected 82nd overall by the Nashville Predators.

Ingram is a talented playmaking forward with good offensive upside. He has solid puck skills, vision, and hockey sense which help him rack up assists, but he lacks high-end skating ability, and his two-way game is still a work in progress. His passive style of play often results in him being late in support of his teammates, but he remains in the middle of the ice, where he is able to contribute in all zones. He takes care of the puck, never forcing unnecessary plays or taking risky opportunities, which helps his point production and limits transition chances for the opposition. Ingram utilizes clean strides and explosiveness in his skating when he has space in front of him, however, he does lack consistent intensity.

His shot still looks strong as he displays a quick, powerful release at least a few times a game. Ingram’s playmaking abilities are solid, and he utilizes the open space given to him very well. His high-end skating speed is still lacking, but his edgework is not bad by any means. It is going to be a long road to the professional level for Ingram, but he certainly has the tools to be a middle-six forward who can contribute to the powerplay if he can fix some of the red flags in his game.

Ingram has produced at a high level for Youngstown in the USHL this season, ranking eighth in the league in points and first among draft eligibles by a wide margin. It should be noted, however, that a majority of his production has come via the powerplay, where Ingram shows off his patience and smart puck-moving abilities. The 2003-born forward is one of the older players eligible for the draft, but his impact thus far has gotten him some potential first-round buzz. The Manitoba native has taken the unconventional route for Canadian-born players, as he’s expected to attend St. Cloud State University next season after he completes his USHL campaign. If he can continue producing at this rate, earn more even-strength points, and increase his involvement in the play, he could be considered a first-round prospect come draft day.
