Not many fantasy managers had Xavier Villeneuve falling into the second round of the draft. The Chicago Blackhawks made a big move to bring a professional defenceman in by trading the fourth overall selection to acquire Bowen Byram. Getting Xavier Villeneuve 30 picks later could take some of the sting off of that. Chicago is a team teeming with future talent, but need to start putting together a squad that can move up in the standing. Grabbing Villeneuve late gives them a great prospect defender to watch develop as the team moves out of their rebuild.
