Sulku’s update is finally about banked games, not rehab. KooKoo brought him in for 2025-26, and the Flyers kept him in the picture by bringing him to development camp, where he scored the late tying goal in the final scrimmage. Early in the season, though, he was still fighting for ice and KooKoo loaned him to IPK in October, then again for a short December stint, with the club noting he had played just three Liiga games at each checkpoint. The real progress came once he got healthy practice time and a steadier role.

The big-bodied winger only skated in seven games in 2024-2025 due to injury, but in the games he did play Sulku made the most of it. He scored six goals and added three assists in those nine games, and managed to keep his nose clean with only two penalty minutes. Sulku is currently without an NHL deal, and is poised to skate in the Liiga next year. Should he show his small sample offensive pop in the Mestis was a sign of things to come, perhaps we could see him finally make his way to North America. For now, he’s worth watchlisting, but isn’t worth an investment.

Sulku has been selected by the Philadelphia Flyers with the 197th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Sulku plans to play in Sweden next season with the MoDo Hockey J20 team.

When KooKoo exercised his 2026-27 option on Feb. 13, the club said his offensive strengths and finishing had started to show after a stretch of broken seasons and a choppy fall, and noted he had produced four goals and six assists in 15 Liiga games. He followed that with a three-point week at the end of February, then closed the regular season with his seventh Liiga goal. For fantasy purposes, this was less a true breakout than a reset. Sulku re-established himself as a viable pro winger with size, touch around the net, and growing offensive confidence. The next step is proving this push can hold across a full Liiga season in stable top-league minutes.
