Projected potential

Bio

A hard-shooting winger with offensive upside.

Projected potential: 62 · 2nd Line Potential2025-26 · KHL · Dinamo Minsk

What is PNHLe?

PNHLe is an offensive stat that is used to project a player’s point potential at the NHL level and is meant to standardize a variety of leagues so that prospects can be compared from one league with another.

PNHLe attempts to equalize all leagues, age and positions so that the offensive potential of a prospect can easily be compared with others, while also projecting future NHL point potential in the prime years of a player.

The problem with NHLe

The premise of the NHLe stat is certainly a great idea. If a player jumps directly from one league to the NHL there should be some precedent set by historical values that would indicate how many points that player should project to having in a full NHL season. However, it always bothered me that NHLe never took into account that younger players in the same league would always have a massive disadvantage compared to those that have more experience and are physically more mature in the same league. NHLe only looks at the present to predict how many points in one league are equated at the NHL level.

Scouting Feed

Borikov signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Utah Mammoth in May 2026. His deal carries an average annual value (AAV) of $995K and runs through the 2028-29 season.

Borikov has quietly become a more interesting fantasy name than his draft position suggests, taking another step forward in the KHL with 30 points in 59 games after posting 25 in 67 a year ago. The 2025 fourth-round pick does not come with huge star-level projection, but his game has a lot of translatable elements for deeper dynasty formats. He plays with enough skill to contribute offensively, but what helps separate him is the way he competes through traffic, works the boards, and stays involved in all three zones. That blend of physical engagement and improving offensive instinct gives him a better chance than most late picks to carve out NHL value. He may not have a high-end fantasy ceiling, but Borikov is trending toward legitimate middle-six upside and looks like the type of prospect who can outperform expectations if the offense keeps coming.

Playing on the same KHL squad as 2023 draft pick and breakout player Vadim Moroz, Borikov was in his third draft-eligible season. He had played a regular shift with Dinamo Minsk, having a decent year, but really came on in the KHL playoffs. Borikov had seven goals in 11 playoff games with zero power play time. Before you think Utah drafted the next Fernando Pisani, Borikov is a strong skating winger with good hands and hockey sense. He plays with pace and creates in the hard areas of the ice. Borikov could be a sleeper.

Selected 110th overall, Yegor Borikov is now a member of the Utah Mammoth.
