Terrance, acquired this past summer in the Chris Kreider trade, is competing in his first pro season with the Hartford Wolf Pack. The New York native served as captain of the OHL’s Erie Otters a season ago, where he played with fellow Rangers prospect Malcolm Spence. The left-shot Terrance is in the first year of his three-year entry level contract, signed with Anaheim prior to his trade to New York. The pro game has been a big adjustment so far for the Center iceman, as he has posted only five points in 35 games played thus far for the Wolf Pack. Terrance is known for his speed and high motor, attributes that are badly needed in New York, after the team recently waived the white flag on the 2025-26 season, in which they have been beset with injuries and poor play. Terrance will need at least the entirety of this season to continue developing at the AHL level, and is likely to spend most, if not all of next season there as well.

Terrance has been traded to the New York Rangers as part of a deal that is sending Chris Kreider and a 2025 4th-round pick to the Ducks, for Terrance and a 2025 3rd-round pick. This change for Terrance should make his path to the NHL easier, as the Rangers’ prospect depth isn’t as deep as the Ducks. He will have one season with the Hartford Wolf Pack before having any opportunity to make the NHL roster.
Now serving as captain of the Erie Otters, Terrance has had an interesting season marked by a shift in development focus. His offensive tools haven’t progressed much; he remains a straight north-south skater who relies on pace and reach to beat defenders. He’s most effective when using that speed to push defenses back, gain the offensive zone, slow the play down to allow teammates time to set up, or take a fast shot, hoping to surprise the goalie. His playmaking is serviceable, but unlikely to be a standout feature at higher levels. Terrance has shown real growth in his defensive and off-puck play. His high motor and good skating make him a persistent pest for opposing attackers. He has a knack for arriving at the right time to disrupt plays and reads developing situations well. A mainstay on Erie’s top penalty kill unit, Terrance was regularly tasked with shutting down opposing top lines, responsibilities he handled very well and consistently. His path to the NHL increasingly looks like that of a bottom-six, defensively reliable forward and penalty kill specialist. While he may chip in the occasional counter-attack point thanks to his speed, his fantasy value will likely remain limited. There could be some upside in hits and blocks for deeper category leagues, but he’ll likely remain more valuable to his team than to fantasy managers. Still needs another one or two seasons before he is likely to get any chance to play in the NHL.
The Anaheim Ducks signed Terrance to a three-year, entry-level contract beginning with the 2025-26 NHL season on April 9, 2025.
During a game against the Owen Sound on February 14, 2025, Terrance crashed into the end boards, causing him to leave. Though he was stretchered out, he was fully responsive and had movements in his extremities and is expected to have avoided serious injury. The Erie Otters announced Terrance had been discharged from the hospital and would continue with the team on their current road trip.
