Murchison has signed his ELC and is set to join the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in 2025-2026. He doesn’t carry much in the way of offense- his four year, 145 game NCAA career saw him post nine goals and 14 assists, but 279 penalty minutes- but the young defender plays a solid defensive game and adds a level of sandpaper to the back end that teams covet. Murchison is a wise stash or watchlist add in a league that rewards the rough stuff, depending on the depth of rosters, as we watch to see how he acclimates to professional game.

The Philadelphia Flyers signed Murchison to a two-year entry-level contract beginning 2025-26.

Murchison played in every game of his freshman season with Arizona State, where he showcased his physicality in a primarily defensive role. Not called on to provide much offense, Murchison still registered four goals and three assists in 35 games. He will return to Arizona State next season and is likely destined for a four-year NCAA career before Philadelphia decides whether to extend an entry-level offer.
