Lind’s first North American pro season split between Nashville’s ECHL affiliate in Atlanta and the Milwaukee Admirals, where he finished the year after an earlier AHL callup. His ECHL numbers were functional – 16 points in 34 games – but eight points across 26 AHL appearances reflect a player still finding his footing against men. Offensive production has been on a steady decline since his draft year with Red Deer, when 44 points in 43 WHL games drove his second-round standing. The path forward is a physical one. Brother Kole carved out NHL time through resilience, grit, and a willingness to make himself hard to play against on every shift – qualities Kalan possesses in flashes but has not made the consistent foundation of his game. AHL depth looks like the realistic ceiling at this stage.

Lind wrapped up his junior career with the Red Deer Rebels and, unfortunately, never took the jump many expected him to make. The second rounder’s most productive season in the WHL was his draft year, and in the two years since, he has struggled with injuries, which have led to him scoring at a much lower rate than before. He still could be an NHLer with a game built around physicality, but as it stands right now, the outlook for Lind looks rather bleak. If he can have a big year in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals, then he could potentially break into the NHL one day.

The Nashville Predators assigned Lind to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Lind was selected 46th overall by the Predators.

Lind spent most of this past season playing on the second line in Red Deer. He earned 16 goals and 28 assists for 44 points in 42 games for the Rebels during the regular season, as well as five points in 10 games for them in the playoffs, leading his line in both portions of his 2022-23 campaign, which was aided by his presence on the top power-play unit as the net-front presence.
