Scouting Feed

James Connelly - DobberProspectsAugust 2025

Lind wrapped up his junior career with the Red Deer Rebels and, unfortunately, never took the jump many expected him to make. The second rounder’s most productive season in the WHL was his draft year, and in the two years since, he has struggled with injuries, which have led to him scoring at a much lower rate than before. He still could be an NHLer with a game built around physicality, but as it stands right now, the outlook for Lind looks rather bleak. If he can have a big year in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals, then he could potentially break into the NHL one day.

Mark Henry - DobberProspectsMarch 2025

The Nashville Predators assigned Lind to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Pat Quinn - DobberProspectsJune 2023

Lind was selected 46th overall by the Predators.

DobberProspectsJune 2023

Lind spent most of this past season playing on the second line in Red Deer. He earned 16 goals and 28 assists for 44 points in 42 games for the Rebels during the regular season, as well as five points in 10 games for them in the playoffs, leading his line in both portions of his 2022-23 campaign, which was aided by his presence on the top power-play unit as the net-front presence.

Hadi Kalakeche - DobberProspects

Lind is a strong playmaker and a quick skater. This combination helps him set up possession in the offensive zone for his team, especially on the power play, and he displays an interesting level of intelligence when deciding between slowing down to gain the middle and speeding up to cut around a defender. On top of that, there is the relentless motor and his tendency to try everything to get under his opponent’s skin, and this is a package of tools bound to draw NHL scouts’ eyes. The concern with Lind is that his skillset doesn’t indicate that he has the tools to be anything more than a support-role player, but he has highly coveted assets come playoff time.

What is PNHLe?

PNHLe is an offensive stat that is used to project a player’s point potential at the NHL level and is meant to standardize a variety of leagues so that prospects can be compared from one league with another.

PNHLe attempts to equalize all leagues, age and positions so that the offensive potential of a prospect can easily be compared with others, while also projecting future NHL point potential in the prime years of a player.

The problem with NHLe

The premise of the NHLe stat is certainly a great idea. If a player jumps directly from one league to the NHL there should be some precedent set by historical values that would indicate how many points that player should project to having in a full NHL season. However, it always bothered me that NHLe never took into account that younger players in the same league would always have a massive disadvantage compared to those that have more experience and are physically more mature in the same league. NHLe only looks at the present to predict how many points in one league are equated at the NHL level.
