Bloom spent most of the season with the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL, and finished with 20 goals and 19 assists in 43 games. He also managed an assist in two AHL games.

For Bloom to be fantasy relevant, he will need to get himself from the ECHL to the AHL on a regular basis, even though the 20 goal campaign in the ECHL is a nice performance, it will mean more against more difficult competition.

Bloom is likely to earn his money as a big bodied winger who resides in the bottom six, and will need to work on moulding himself as such to put himself on a path to NHL minutes.

At present, his isn’t a fantasy investment, but if he can plant roots in Abbotsford and show signs of developing into a grinding power forward, he could have value in multi-cat leagues.

After completing a 40-point OHL campaign with Saginaw, Bloom has spent this season in the ECHL. He’s played in 17 games and scored seven goals. The key facets of Bloom’s game, his size and tenacity, have been displayed in his relatively limited time. The Canucks are hoping that Bloom can continue to generate offense and help lead Kalamazoo before potentially heading back to Abbotsford.
