As a rather under the radar player, Uchacz has some intrigue to him. Undrafted, and signed to an ELC last season, he played with the Henderson Silver Knights of the AHL. He scored 15 goals and added 15 assists along with 75 penalty minutes in 68 games in his rookie season. A few notes on his stat line, he shot 18% on the year, and 26 of his season’s penalty minutes came in the last game of the year.

In his junior career, Uchacz captained the Red Deer Rebels in his final season, where he also showed a penchant for putting up penalty minutes- 75 in 68 games and 66 and 75 in the same number of games in the two seasons prior. He wasn’t just a goon in the WHL however. His 2022-2023 season saw him score 50 goals in those 68 games, and that goal total ranks him 34th in the WHL since 2009, and 19th by players under the age of 20.

While he is not a top flight prospect by any means, and still has a lot of proving to do before we can pencil him into the Golden Knights bottom six, he is rostered in 5% of Fantrax leagues, and would represent a zero risk stash in deeper leagues where banger categories are sought after. Park him on your farm if you need some potential grit, and perhaps he could pay some dividends down the line.

The Vegas Golden Knights signed Uchacz to a two-year, entry-level contract.
