Bio

Shifty offensive winger with good playmaking ability. Lack of size and strength could hold him back but he has the skill to produce at the NHL level.

Scouting Feed

DobberProspectsSeptember 2025

Dumais skated in his rookie season in the AHL with the Cleveland Monsters in 2024-2025, hoping to get back to playing consistent hockey. Dumais was a force in the QMJHL where point totals are often arcade level. His age 18 season points per game rate of 2.19 was higher than that of 18 year old Alexis Lafreniere’s 2.15, Connor Garland’s 2.06 or Joshua Roy’s age 18 and 19 1.80. In fact, his points per game rate is the second highest of any age player since 2009 behind only Jonathan Drouin’s age 18 2.35.

DobberProspects

Despite QMJHL numbers always skewing high, his 54 goals and 86 assists in 64 games in 2022-2023 stands out. Since then, however, several injuries and an impaired driving charge have kept him off the ice.

DobberProspects

His 21 games this prior season saw him score four goals and add seven assists, and seeing some powerplay time. Five of his seven assists were primary, which shows- in a small sample size- a knack for playmaking. He also shot 17.4%, which is unlikely to remain as high over a long period, let alone at the NHL level.

DobberProspects

The incredible junior pedigree, the injuries and off-season problem interrupting his development, and the small sample size in his AHL debut leaves predicting his future value a difficult task. It would be fair to say his perceived value in fantasy circles has hit a low, and he could be acquired cheaply. You would need to have room to stash him on your farm team and hope that he can get back to his previous level of performance and earn his way to Columbus as a middle-six playmaker.

Alex Wyatt - DobberProspects

He would be worth holding onto if you already roster him to see how this season progresses, or buying low and watching as well, but limit your investment as there is not much certainty here at present.

What is PNHLe?

PNHLe is an offensive stat that is used to project a player’s point potential at the NHL level and is meant to standardize a variety of leagues so that prospects can be compared from one league with another.

PNHLe attempts to equalize all leagues, age and positions so that the offensive potential of a prospect can easily be compared with others, while also projecting future NHL point potential in the prime years of a player.

The problem with NHLe

The premise of the NHLe stat is certainly a great idea. If a player jumps directly from one league to the NHL there should be some precedent set by historical values that would indicate how many points that player should project to having in a full NHL season. However, it always bothered me that NHLe never took into account that younger players in the same league would always have a massive disadvantage compared to those that have more experience and are physically more mature in the same league. NHLe only looks at the present to predict how many points in one league are equated at the NHL level.
