Havelid has signed his Entry Level Contract with the San Jose Sharks, and will be heading to North America for 2025-2026.

In 2024-2025, he split time with Djurgardens of the Allsvenskan, and Linkoping of the SHL. Expectedly, he played fewer minutes in the SHL, and finished with just one assist in 19 games. In the Allsvenskan he regularly skated over 15 minutes a night, regularly putting two or more shots on net. His two goals and 14 assists in only 18 regular season games was the third-best point pace by a defender in the entire league.

He leaves Djurgardens on a high note, helping them rank up to the SHL, and will work the blueline with fellow slick-passing youngster Luca Cagnoni as a fantastic one-two punch on the back end for the Barracuda.

The San Jose Sharks have selected Hävelid in the second round of the 2022 NHL Draft, 45th overall.

Hävelid had a fantastic start to the season at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup where he scored two goals and seven assists in only five games to lead all defencemen in scoring for the tournament. He also notched four points in eight games at last year’s U18 Worlds as an underager. In J20 competition this season, he has seven goals and seven assists in 22 games, and in the SHL, he has played 12 games without registering a point. He has the second-highest plus-minus total among draft-eligible defenders in J20 Nationell. Overall, he has had a solid season to this point.
