Halliday signed a two-year contract extension with the Ottawa Senators in May 2026. His deal carries an average annual value (AAV) of $1.07M and runs through the 2027-28 season.

Stephen Halliday has found himself taking regular shifts at the NHL level, playing in 28 games and potting four goals and seven assists while playing just over eight minutes a night. Despite the limited time on ice, Halliday interestingly finds himself spending a quarter of that measure- 1:53 a game- on the power play.

At the AHL level, he has played 29 games, and has supplied two goals and 27 assists, with 16 of those being primary helpers. He excels on the powerplay in the minors as well with 15 points coming with the man advantage.

Currently, Halliday is more of a minors eligible flex play in leagues, as his time on ice doesn’t give him the opportunity to put up many countable stats- he currently hits and shoots roughly once per game- but he is a worthwhile stash now where his minors eligibility gives him value. If he can start to work his way into more even strength time on ice, or strike gold with his powerplay deployment, his value will increase.
