Koskenvuo completed his NCAA career at Harvard and signed his entry-level deal with Vancouver in March 2025. His first professional season was spent building reps, likely splitting between the ECHL and AHL levels in the Canucks’ system. The 6-4 frame gives him natural net coverage, and the athleticism has been there since his draft year, but the consistency and technical refinement are still developing. His college numbers at Harvard were solid but unspectacular, with a .909 save percentage in his final season. Vancouver has a deep goaltending pipeline, so the development timeline is patient. Koskenvuo is raw, and the path to NHL relevance runs through at least two more strong minor-league seasons. Fantasy relevance is minimal in all but the deepest dynasty formats. Koskenvuo had the most starts among Harvard’s goaltenders and the most he has had since arriving in North America. Koskenvuo sometimes played well but struggled to assemble long stretches of dominant play. The Canucks inked Koskenvuo to a two-year, entry-level contract on March 18, 2025. He hopes to carve out a role in the organization during the 2025-26 season.

Koskenvuo’s workload this season continues to grow at Harvard. He had 15 starts in 2023-24 and is already up to nine in 2024-25. In those starts, his goals-against-average is 2.66, while he’s also sporting a .909 save percentage. As Koskenvuo continues to play at Harvard, look for his play to indicate a jump to Abbotsford next season.

After not seeing much ice time last season, Koskenvuo has been given a significantly more significant role with Harvard this season. The tall goaltender has appeared in 12 games, posting numbers that, while not the most impressive, are decent for a rookie in the league. With three wins, a 3.35 goals-against average, and a .902 save percentage, Koskenvuo leads in almost every goaltending statistic for his team. This kind of season could indeed serve as a stepping stone for his road to the NHL.

As expected, Koskenvuo made his journey to Harvard University and saw nearly no games throughout the year. He allowed eight goals and split his starts with a 1-1-0 record. He also saw two starts for team Finland at this year’s WJC but failed to pick up a win, allowing nine goals.
