Scouting Feed
The Port Moody, British Columbia native, listed at 6-3 and 198 pounds, appeared in 15 games for the UConn Huskies in the NCAA, posting a 2.01 GAA and a .933 save percentage along with a 10-4-1 record, all outstanding numbers. In two games for the Wolf Pack, following his collegiate season, the Canadian netminder had a 2.28 GAA and a .893 save percentage.
Fellow prospect Dylan Garand heads into training camp this Fall as the presumptive starter for the Pack, after splitting time last season with veteran netminder Louis Domingue, now in the KHL. Tung, however, appears to have the inside track on the backup role in Hartford, but must battle it out with Talyn Boyko and Hugo Ollas. Two out of the three are likely to be relegated to the ECHL for most or all of the 2025-26 season, subject to their level of play.
If Tung has a good camp and plays well early on in the 2025-26 season, he may be able to lock down a role in Hartford, blocking Boyko and Ollas from the opportunity.
The New York Ranger signed Tung to a three-year, entry-level contract. He will report to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League on an amateur tryout (ATO) for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
