2027 NHL Draft Prospect Report – Tyden Lafournaise (RW)
Tyden Lafournaise
Right shot right wing. 6.00 / 193
DOB: March 17, 2026
Lafournaise is a good size 2-way forward who is reliable, well-rounded & someone who contributes effectively in a supporting role. He is a decent skater with a strong forecheck and demonstrates good puck-support positioning. His awareness away from the puck allows him to stay connected to the play and provide options for his teammates. He also has the ability to contribute on the power play, adding value in different situations.
The main area for improvement is his physical engagement. Given his size, Lafournaise should look to use his frame more consistently and add a stronger physical dimension to his game. Becoming more assertive in battles and along the walls would help him create greater impact and establish a more defined identity.
Lafournaise does not do much wrong, but he also does not currently stand out with any particularly flashy element. He is a dependable, meat-and-potatoes supporting player who contributes within the team structure. He remains on my watch list, as there is upside in his game and room for continued development.
Projection: Lafournaise projects as a later-round selection. With further growth, particularly in his physical engagement, he has the potential to develop into a professional forward.
