Scouting Feed
Michael’s Monthly: September

Before this game my knowledge of Harris was limited, but his skill tonight really put him on my radar. He is a fast skater and hits everything that moves. From the moment the puck dropped Harris was dialed in. He ended up scoring Sudbury’s first goal on the power play. He even had a bit of penalty-kill time, which was Sudbury’s bread and butter as they killed off all five of Kingston’s power plays. He currently reminds me of Seth Jarvis, but only time will tell if he has similar potential.

Evaluating the Crease: 2026 NHL Draft Goaltender Spotlight

Harrison Boettiger, Kelowna RocketsWhen watching Harrison Boettiger play, the first word that comes to mind is smooth. Everything about hisgame looks fluid, from the way he moves to the way he controls pucks. He’s particularly effective in thebutterfly, sealing the ice extremely well with a wide flare and powerful drops. His butterfly slides are elite, efficient, and look effortless. That makes him very difficult to beat on lowshots and highly effective on recoveries. I also like his puck tracking. While it may not be elite, it’s clearlyabove average, especially in how quickly he reads releases. However, it hasn’t always been his most consistent trait. I noticed some sequences where he briefly lostfocus, which led to softer goals on clean long-range shots.Boettiger will also need to improve his play recognition and anticipation. Too often, he relies on hisathleticism and excellent slides to cover space instead of anticipating plays before they fully develop. He’s a goalie with a lot of tools that I really like, but I don’t currently see enough to place him ahead of thegoalies I value in the first three rounds of the draft.

DRAFTPRO – 2024 7-ROUND CONTRIBUTOR MOCK DRAFT

56. St. Louis Blues (From TOR) – Harrison Brunicke, RHD, Kamloops Blazers (WHL) SUMMARY: The Blues add another right shot Defenceman to their prospect pool, still a much needed area to improve upon. Brunicke offers NHL size and skating as well as a more offensive style of game with a terrific shot and puck skills used to drive the zone. He still is a work in progress defensively but had a decent showing at the U18’s. He could have probably went higher if not for being a part of one of the worst teams in the CHL this past season, as well as missing a large chunk due to injury. A solid upside pick that could provide more than his expected middle pairing value. – Colin Johnson

DRAFTPRO – IIHF U18 WORLDS – CANADA U18 REVIEW

Harrison is a skilled left shot center that can play the wing as well. Not only is he extremely versatile, he also brings a unique skill set for his size. Not the prettiest skater but once he hits top speed he really carries it well and can become a threat in transition. He could use a bit more flexion in his knees and a lot more foot speed. As he gets stronger the assumption is he fills into his body and skating should improve. Offensively is dangerous and is one of those players that just finds the score sheet no matter where he plays. He started as the thirteenth forward but was bounced around the lineup as the event went on showing his versatility. He has a heavy shot, one-time, snap shot or wrister. He attacks the open ice. Great goal scorers find open ice when you did not know it was there and he seems to do that more often than not. Not sure if he is a play driver or a secondary player that can play with solid playmakers. Either way there is a spot for his skill set in the NHL especially when he can finish and shoot it like he can. He has surprisingly quick hands in tight and can finish from around the net or from a distance. Likely three years away due to his skating and strength but once he gets there, we’d imagine he makes an immediate impact.
