Ziemmer’s first full AHL campaign with the Ontario Reign produced 24 points in 57 games – better than some expected for a player whose pro-level skeptics had grown louder following his final WHL year. The shot that defined his junior profile has not yet unlocked point production at the same rate in the AHL, and his overall game needs more consistency before he can push onto Los Angeles’ NHL radar. The skating development this year was the most encouraging signal, but he still has a ways to go to compete at NHL pace. He is worth holding in dynasty – the natural goal-scoring instincts and solid frame give him a credible path to a role – but meaningful investment requires more AHL evidence than his current production can offer.

Ziemmer put up a solid overage season with the Prince George Cougars of the WHL in 2024-2025. The 20 year old assistant captain scored 37 goals and added 34 assists and 44 penalty minutes in 61 games. He caps off his WHL career with 260 points in 244 games, a nearly even split between goals and assists (128-132).

At the end of the season, Ziemmer was called up to the Ontario Reign, where one can expect him to put in a season or more of work before showing if he can earn his way up to the call-up list of the Los Angeles Kings. He’s worth a hold in deeper leagues where you have room, but isn’t worth a meaningful investment at present.

Ziemmer was selected 78th overall by the Kings.

Last season, Ziemmer formed a strong one-two punch with fellow 2023 draft-eligible Riley Heidt. He led the Cougars with 30 goals in 68 games and finished just one point shy of Heidt for the team’s overall scoring lead. Both players have taken their production to another level so far this season, and Ziemmer has already scored 15 goals and 21 assists through Prince George’s first 25 games of the season.
